Anna L. Parish
Anna L. ParishOhioStateAnna L. Parish age 88 of Richwood died peacefully Thursday evening, January 31, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 26, 1919 in Richwood to the late William P. and Gladys M. (Park) Ransome.  On January 28, 1940 she married Olin E. Parish at the Richwood Baptist parsonage and he survives in Richwood.

Anna was a homemaker and a farm wife who loved to cook.  She was a 1938 graduate of Richwood High School.  She had worked as a secretary for Plant Life in Marion, Marion Power Shovel and Thomas Chevrolet in Richwood.  She belonged to the Rush Creek (formerly Essex) United Methodist Church.  She was an avid Ohio State football and basketball fan and loved watching television, especially old movies and the Hallmark Channel.  Her favorite time of the year was Christmas time.  She enjoyed making that season special for her family, and she loved to shop.  She was known to have a feisty spirit by her family and friends.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Bill (Beth) Parish, Richwood; two daughters, Judy (Ink) Monroe, Richwood; Joyce (Terry) Christy, Troy; two brothers, Harold (Phyllis) Ransome, Euless, Texas; Robert Ransome, Amherst, Ohio; sister-in-law, Doris Ritchie, Lakeland, Florida; 9 grandchildren, Jim (Rita) Monroe; Tim (Tracy) Monroe; Tami (Bill) Holloway; Carmen (Eric) Shields; Barbara (Christopher) Irwin; Jeff (Mandy) Parish; John (Michelle) Parish; Jill (Lee) Arent; Keith (Lauri) Christy; 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Ransome and Don I. Ransome.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Michele Holloway officiating.  Burial will follow in Price Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law.  Friends may call from 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.  Memorial gifts may be made to Rush Creek United Methodist Church, 32697 St. Rt. 37, Richwood, OH  43344 or Loving Care Hospice, 113 S. Main Street, Marysville, OH  43040.
