I was only a bus driver/teachers aide when I first met "Mrs. Bevis".  She was a Godsend to those who came in contact with her.  She enriched my life and my daughters, Minnie 1988 and Ann 1991.  Softball, basketball, you name it, she was involved. "Teacher" fit her to a T. Such a positive attitude.
Most recently, I have met her grandson, Derek.  Grandma's orneriness lives on.
I've been blessed by her.
God bless you all.
Katie

I wish to express my great disbelief that Mrs Bevis is no longer with us. From early childhood through yound adulthood, mrs bevis was without a doubt the single most important teacher in my life. To this day, I still quote her to my children that are now 11 and 14 years olds. In my opening sentence, I stated that I am in disbelief. That is because she was the type of person that had a lively smile, but would have a firm grip on keeping her school kids in check. People like her in your mind are never supposed to die...Such a tragic loss, that has bestowed us...I will always and forever remember Mrs. Bevis. But I am sure she is looking down and probably frowning at some of my grammar...God Love her...!!! I will miss her greatly!

To the family of Audrey Bevis,
I loved your mother. I first met her when she  and I shared classes at the Ohio State University Marion when the university at Marion was new. We were both non-traditional students, wives and mothers working toward our degrees in education. What a very special and talented lady she was. She always was so cheerful and she was so proud of her kids. I loved her poetry and my father-in-law had some printed for her. She also had marvelous artistic abilities. I was so proud of her when with all she had to do she even coached the girls' basketball team. She will certainly be missed.

We send you our sympathy.

Sincerely,
Dick and Donna Lawrence (formerly from Marion)
