My heart is saddened by the loss of Brenda.  I work with Deryl at Autry.  Deryl's love for Brenda is evident in the fact he always was sharing stories and thoughts about his lovely wife, Brenda.  I never had the opportunity to met her but she sounded like a very neat lady.  It is wonderful that part of her will live on in her poetry.
Again, my sympathy to the family of Brenda Gulliford.  May the love she showed her family sustain them in memory for years to come!

I had the honor of serving as Brenda's principal at Glennwood Elementary School for 8 years. I am not one to rate teachers. However , in my 37 years in education , Brenda was one of the top 5 teachers I have ever known.  I still live and work in the Marion community.  I run into former students from Glenwood quite often.  They are quick to share memories of special people that they meet while at Glenwood. Without exception, the name of Brenda Gulliford comes up.  To Daryl and Brenda's family, her memory will live on in this community for years to come.
May God bless you,
Dave White

Oh my gosh! I couldn't believe it when I saw this in the paper.  Daryl, I am so sorry for your loss. My family will always remember the times we spent at your house in Marysville while my dad did remodeling work for you and Brenda.  My sister, Amanada, and I had so much fun swimming, playing games, and laughing while we spent days there while dad worked.  I remember Brenda from Glenwood, she was not my teacher, but she did teach my sister a few years after me.  My sister adored her!

Our thoughts are with you during this unbelievably sad time.

Deryl,
I was surprised and saddened to read about Brenda's death.  It sounds like you have had a very fulfilling life together.  We just lost a 47 year old niece two weeks ago and, like Brenda, you wonder why God decides to take some people from us while they are still so young.  May you find some peace and comfort in the coming months.

To all of Brenda's family. I was shocked and saddened to read of Brenda's passing in the Marion Star. I had not realized she was such an accomplished writer. I'd like to find a copy of her book for myself. She was always sweet and kind to everyone and this world was made a better place by her having been a part of it.
Sending my condolences to all who knew and loved her.
