Dear Ones, It was an honor to know your father. Paul was one of a kind. Danny loved hunting and fishing with Crafty. He was everyone's hero! He had all those stints and always kept on going. When I met Paul he made me feel welcome with the guys. God received a very precious person on Friday. We will always keep Crafty in a special place within our hearts.

To Butch and Melody,
I am so sorry for your lose, everyone loved your Dad. He always had a smile on his face that showed how much he loved life. I know how much he loved your mother and she loved him too. One day they'll be together in Paradise. Always remember the good times and you'll get through this. I love you both very much.

Hello Butch (Kenneth),

Sorry I was not able to attend last night's viewing for your father.

I want to share a few things about "Crafty" I remember from our younger days and also most recently.

My Mom (Nancy Hoover) used to babysit for you when we were in kindergarten. One day several of us got paddled by Ms. Payne for working ahead in our workbooks. Mom came to the school to pick us up at noon because buses didn't take kindergarteners home back then. I was crying so hard for getting a paddling that I couldn't tell her why, so you did it for me. When Crafty came to pick you up that day after work, he was not pleased with Ms. Payne . . . to say the least. He went to school the next day and gave her a piece of his mind. She was ALWAYS nice to me after that. LOL !!

I grew up and moved away. Started a family of my own. Didn't see Crafty much. Then about three years ago I began going through a divorce. The first place I went was to my Dad's (Wendell Hoover) with my kids. Crafty was there that evening. When I told my Dad that I was filing for divorce after twenty years, both him and Crafty gave me HUGE hugs! They said I deserved better, but didn't want to voice their opinions in the past. I had NOTHING the day I left. Crafty had a small refrigerator he cleaned up for me to use. He, Matt (your nephew) and my Dad brought it to me once I had a place to rent. Never would let me pay him for using it until I got a different one. Told me to let him know if I needed anything else.

Then . . . there is my grandma (Vivian Hoover) . . . she adored Crafty !!!!! No one could get near her flowers with a weed wacker except him. My Dad and Uncle Rick are color-blind and would "chop" up some of her flowers before they knew it. Crafty always took time to make sure grandma was happy with the flowers. Dad and him kept her busy with the garden. I always knew she was in good hands when Crafty was there!!!!

When my sister, Pam, was murdered . . . Crafty was right there for my Dad !!!!!!!!!!!! Many people came and offered support and condolences with words, but Paul did more than that . . . he would come visit, go hunting, work in the garden, help cut firewood, mow the yard . . . whatever he could do to help my Dad. THAT'S A TRUE FRIEND !!!!

I just wanted to share a few things about your Dad with you that may make you smile when you read them. Maybe some things you didn't know or may have forgotten.

PLEASE do not stop fishing at Dad's !!!! He would LOVE to still see you and your son.
