Norman Dale GregoryFlagNorman Dale Gregory, age 74, of LaRue, died Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 10:05 PM at Marion General Hospital with his wife at his side. He was born October 6, 1934 in Delaware County to the late Paul and Thelma (Murphy) Gregory.  On July 7, 1957 he married Betty Jane Lane and she survives.  
Surviving besides his wife of 52 years are sons; Steven (Karla) Gregory of Marion, Scott (Cindy) Gregory of Huntsville, daughter Stephanie Ruth of Columbus.  Grandchildren; Natalie (Shaun) O’Donnell of Prospect, Kaila Gregory of Virginia, Chelsea Gregory of Columbus, Brett Gregory of Marion and Bryan Ruth of Marion.  Landon of Prospect and expected Great Granddaughter in December.  Step Grandchildren; Ryan (Tia) Lillard of Russell Point, Jessica (Josh) Osborne  of DeGraff, Step Great Grandchildren; Burke, Madden, Gavin, and Brody. Sister; Janet (Eugene) Akers and brother Paul Gregory both of New Bloomington. He was preceded in death by infant son Jerry Lee, daughter Sherri and Sister Phyllis Newsome.
He was a member of the Union Baptist Church and Marion Senior Citizens. Was a veteran serving in the U S Army in Germany for 2 years.  Employed at Whirlpool for 42 ½ years in the paint dept. He enjoyed his family, senior trips, country music, tractor pulls, gardening, yard work. His pride and joy was always his truck and his cars.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday September 9, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue.  Minister will be the Rev. Timothy Peria.  Burial in the LaRue Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home in LaRue from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday.  
There will be graveside military rites conducted by the Marion County United Veterans Council.
Those who wish may make contributions to the Union Baptist Church. Special thanks to the  ICU at Marion General Hospital for the excellent care they gave him.
