Todd George Martin
Todd George MartinCyclingTodd George Martin, age 46 of Fort Worth, Texas died Saturday, October 3, 2009 from injuries sustained in a bicycle accident.  He was born May 4, 1963 in Walnut Creek, CA.

Martin moved to Ohio at the age of 14.  He graduated from North Union High School in 1982.  In his early 20’s, he moved to North Texas where he called home for the rest of his life.

Most knew Todd as a cyclist first and foremost as he rode with two primary clubs and logged tens of thousands of miles first with the Fort Worth Bicycling Association and then with Lone Star Randonneurs.  With both groups, he was a quiet and beloved leader.

He is survived by his father, George Martin, Richwood; sister Lindsey Anne (Tom) Cannon, Pleasant Hills, CA and his chosen families of the Fort Worth Bicycling Association and Lone Star Randonneurs who miss him very much.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 PM on Friday, October 9, 2009 at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood.  A memorial service is planned for Sunday, October 11 at 5:00pm at Shannon Rose Hill, Arlington, Texas.

I worked with Todd at American Sling for over 5 years and stayed in touch even after we had both left.  He was a great mentor, teacher and so dang funny!
He is, and will always be, missed dearly.  I'm glad I had the opprotunity to know him and the gift to call him a friend.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Dear Mr. Martin,

We were so sorry to learn of Todd's death.  We always enjoyed his  coming to our house and being a good friend to Jeff.

I remember a time when Jeff wanted to ride into Marion on his bicycle and we told him no.  Then he came and asked if he could go with Todd.  We assumed he was driving since Todd had his license at that time , but that was not the case. Todd was a very nice boy and even took the time to talk with us "old" people.

You have our deepest sympathy.

Sincerely,

Don & Sue Guseman
