I have many wonderful memories of the Askins family on Mink Street Rd. Growing up on the Carpenter Farm, Randy Davis would visit and play with my brother, Greg and myself. I also remember Jack and Carole Ann Evans visiting quite often. Jack and Uncle Bill Carpenter were friends. My sympathies to the family and know that the wonderful memories will help get you through the tough days.

Dear Harold, Randy, & the rest,
I was shocked to read the obituary. It made me glad that we got to see each other last summer at the Evans Reunion. I am so sorry for your loss...it's just as real as Heaven's gain. So in the Lord, may you find His comfort and blessing. I will pass on the news to my mother in West Virginia. She will want to know. Randy, as your cousin and a fellow minister, I can't imagine taking part in leading the memorial. I couldn't do it for my dad when he died. May the Lord give you special grace. I know what you share will be from the heart and from the Lord.

Dear family, We have fond memories of Rudy. She babysit for our son Joel. We never worried when she had him. We knew he was in loving arms. She can watch over all the small children in Heaven now. Aren't they lucky! God Bless, Mary and Art Granlee

Dear Harold and family Rudy was one of the most wonderful. women I ever met. She was so loving and kind to every one she met. I will never forget her, she gave a NIV bible to my wife Alicia. Later I told her that it was such a nice bible and so easy to read. The next thing I knew she gave me one as well. Inside on the first page she wrote "For Gary a very special person" From Rudy Just because I love you. However it was her that was the very special person.

I will be praying for you and the family as you suffer the loss of Rudy

So very sorry and shocked to learn of Rudy's death. Sure wish we could be there but we are thinking of you and will keep you in our prayers. Sure will miss seeing Rudy at church and did so enjoy visiting with her, we went to school at York Center together for a number of years.

Rudy always shared her joy of Jesus whenever there was an opportunity. She gave Him thanks in all things, even through her pains and struggles.

We were often greeted by her big smile and desire to serve Jesus. I fondly remember staying overnight with Randy (R.J.) as a teenager and getting up to the aroma of homemade pancakes. Mrs. Davis would ask, "What kind of pancakes would you like?" Up to this point in my life, I figured pancakes were always plain. She asked if I wanted chocolate chips, blueberries, or a number of other additions. I asked for chocolate chips. To this day, they're my favorite!

I remember Mrs. Davis as always loving, always cheerful, and always full of energy. She was the model homemaker, wife, and mother.

Our condolences to the family. Our love and hugs go out to you.

Rudy was a wonderful lady with a big heart. She helped mentor many young parents and changed the lives of numerous children that she cared for. I will always have fond memories of the time spent at her house and she will truly be missed. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

My knowledge of Mrs. Davis comes through serving with her son, Tom. His honesty, dedication and reliability are a testimony to her effective guidance in giving Tom a firm & honorable foundation by which to live. May this legacy continue to bless the Davis family for many generations to honor her loving kindness.

"Mrs. Rudy" (as she called herself at GW) was a wonderful aide at our school. All of the kids loved her, not just the ones she worked with. She would sing and do everything that I asked the class to do in music. We had many wonderful conversations about music and kids. I still have the letter of apology that she wrote to me when she talked out in class without raising her hand. She actually wrote the sentence, "I will raise my hand and not yell out in class", one hundred times and gave it to me with the letter of apology. She wanted to set a good example for the kids and hoped that her letter could be used sometime for a lesson in behavior. What a great lady and role model! It was a privilege to know her and work with her.

So sorry Harold. I havn't seen you for quite some time but I fondly remember you commenting on my white leotards with red hearts that I wore to church. If I recall George Beckley did the same. You two were always picking on me. That hasn't changed to this day. I still get picked on constantly. I've asked why people pick on me so much and they all just look at me and say "because you take it so well". I can dish it out right back just as well as they can. Anyway, I would go in and visit with Rudy at Heartland when Aunt Ruth was in there. The three of us would sit in the cafeteria cause for some reason I always managed to get there at the time they were eating. I'd bring my oldest son, Nathan (2yrs), in with me and they would share their meals with him. He was on cloud 9. She kept us entertained the whole time we were there. Once again sorry to hear about your loss. Thinking about you and your family.

Remembering Rudy fondly from our Sunday School days at Essex. We had such a strong church family and Harold, Randy & Diana and their boys (Alpha Singers) were part of that. I still place a crocheted angel on my Christmas tree that Rudy gave to me. Our sympathy to the family.
