Yvonne D’Etta “Rudy” Davis
Yvonne D’Etta “Rudy” DavisYvonne D’Etta “Rudy” Davis, age 71 of Marion died Monday, February 1, 2010 at Heartland of Marion.  She was born February 13, 1938 in Delaware to the late Robert Paul and Estella Louise (Askins) Evans.

She was a 1956 graduate of Magnetic Springs High School.  In addition to being a full-time homemaker, Rudy was involved in child care for 31 years, many of those as a baby sitter and most recently as a teacher’s aide for George Washington Elementary in Marion City Schools.   She was an active member of Crosswood United Methodist Church in Marion where she taught Sunday School.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and helping to make blankets for the “Kids in Crisis” Program.

On June 24, 1956 she married Harold C. Davis and he survives in Marion.  She is also survived by three sons, Randy (Diana) Davis, Wapakoneta; Tim (Kathy) Davis, Hillsboro; Tom (Dee) Davis, Marion; two daughters, Sue Young, Stroudsburg, PA; Annette (Ken) Davis-Brooks, New Albany, Indiana; a sister, Carole Anne Evans, Elkhart, Indiana; grandchildren, Joshua (Monica) Young, Jacob Young, Jon (Amy) Davis, Michael (Brandie) Davis, Chris (Rebecca) Sprauer Jr., Katie Fox, Barbie Fox, Lynn Davis, Kyle Davis, Michelle Philips, Kenneth Brooks Jr.; great-grandchildren, Ian Davis, Madison Davis, Michael Davis II, Noah Sprauer, Malachi Sprauer, Matthew Hartsock, Jaden Wilson, Shawna Grooms, D. J. Philips, and Adonis Philips.

She was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Lee Davis; a brother, Jack Evans; and a sister, Susan Evans.

A Celebration of Rudy's life will take place on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 4:00 PM at Crosswood United Methodist Church with Pastors Ryan Chivington and R. J. Davis officiating.  Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the church.

Drove past Rudy and Harrold’s old house and thought of them. Gone but not forgotten.
