Wayne Cox and my dad (Darrell J. Evans) were close for several years before Dad & Mom moved to West Virginia. Wayne turned me loose on a tractor solo (age 12) before Dad would have let me drive and that was fun. He also took me to a fair on his motorcycle and we had a blast. He enjoyed his music and he was fun. I'm sorry for his loss.

My deepest sympathies to Wayne's family and friends. Wayne was my sunshine and very dear to me. I loved his sense of humor and he was so especially sweet to everyone. I will miss him so much. Aaron, my son, will miss him most. Wayne was so patient with Aaron and was his never-ending buddy even after Wayne and I moved apart. Aaron and I love Wayne forever. We miss him always but remember him with a big smile.

I'm married to Wayne's youngest sister Nina, I had never had the pleasure of meeting Wayne until just recently in may. My wife had not seen him in 26 years and we were able to spend some time with him, I was so excited to finally meet my brother in law Wayne, we laughed and talked for a long time and I even tried to play a tune with him, he's really good. We are going to miss him but I know I'll see him one day in heaven. To Wanda and Wilma you are in my thoughts and prayers hope to see you soon.

On behalf of our entire family, I would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family of Wayne Cox.  He was such a good man.  Wayne always seemed to get much enjoyment out of talking about his singing, as well as his antiques.  He will be truly missed by all.

One of the gifts my brother gave me, when he first met me was excepting me as his little sister. We never had sibling arguments or fights but love for one another.  When he come visit he take my sister, Nina and I for rides on the motorcycle.  We used to love them. His last gift to Nina and I was the wonderful surprise to visit us in Texas. His visit blessed us all.  Our children got to met their Uncle and see his God given talent.  He shared stories of his childhood and how he started playing.  Our children will never forget them but will treasure the memories of their Uncle Wayne.   We will miss you but know you are safe and well in Heaven. Thank you for your prayers.

There are many things people will remember about Wayne. He was a very friendly man who knew no strangers. He was friendly with everyone. He loved playing music, restoring old machinery , going to Bluegrass Festivals and back when I knew him we enjoyed riding his motorcycle. In his love for music he learned many instruments. I don't think there was a string instrument he couldn't play and he made each one of them ring out in"awsomeness!" He played all by ear, never read a note of music(said he never learned how) and there wasn't a man around who could even touch his talent in playing the "banjo" or guitar. He was very gifted in his music and the love for it showed in every note he played.I know he will be missed by many but the ones he touched by his music will miss him in a different way. Back in the day when I remember the band, he,Jim and the rest of the guys always put on a good show for any event they played. Wayne's first love was his music and I think anyone who knew him would agree.

Used to ride the same school bus with Wayne, and
his sister Wanda. Wanda and I were in the same
graduating class.
God be with you and your family, now and later, when the pain of loss begins to lose it's power.
