Anthony Wayne “Tony” Yates
Anthony Wayne “Tony” YatesDallas CowboysAnthony Wayne “Tony” Yates, age 53 of Richwood died unexpectedly in his sleep Sunday morning, Aug. 8, 2010 at his home.  He was born April 26, 1957 in Urbana to William Raymond and the late Naomi Mae (Slone) Yates.

On May 1, 1982 he married the former Rena Cox in York Center and she survives in Richwood.

He was an avid pool player and had been a member of the American Pool Players Association for over 25 years.  He attended Christ the Rock Church.  Tony was a very friendly guy who never knew a stranger.  He would go out of his way to help anyone.  His world revolved around his kids and grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Rena, Richwood; his father, Raymond, Urbana; a son, David Yates, Richwood; his inherited sons, Jeremiah (Jessica) Workman and Cory Hixon, both of Spotsylvania, Virginia; three brothers, William Raymond (Sue) Yates, Jr., Urbana; Michael (April) Yates, Richwood; Charles E. (Melissa) Yates, Urbana; two sisters, Melissa (Kevin) Wurschmidt, Mayking, Kentucky; Tawna Brown, Urbana; five grandchildren, Tiffany, Tyler, Devon, Zacory and Delaney, his mother-in-law, Helen Hoodlet, Richwood, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Mae and daughter, Sarah.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Dale Baker officiating.  Burial will follow in Shoup (Thompson Twp.) Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 on Wednesday.

Memorial gifts may be made to Christ the Rock Church.

Hy im anthony tonys cuzzi did not know he had past away tell every one i send my simpathy to them for there lose tony was a great influence on me when i was a kid he bought me my very first alblum i will miss him lol
