I cannot begin to express sorrow we feel for Tony's family. Tony was a good man and left us way too soon. My father, Sisters, and I thought highly of him. I am sure Tony and Hoody are already together talking and poking at each other. Stay strong Cox and Yates family.

Tony was one of the friendliest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I considered him a friend. We got to know each other when he chaperoned our NYC Economics/BPA trip in the Spring of 2001 at NU. He was a guy who always lit of up the room with his high energy. He was so proud of his grandson. I will truly miss this man. For years Tony and I have been jawing one another over his team (Cowboys) and mine (Bengals). It was always a alot of fun. I could always expect to find him either sitting inside Carlyle's or outside on the bench in front. When we got within seeing range one of my kids would often spot Tony and say there's Tony dad you better get ready. Until the day I die I will always always always remember Tony Yates when I watch the Cowboys. Tony, I will miss you buddy! God Bless
James 1:2-4

Tony was a great man. He was very much indeed a true billiards fan at heart and loved everything about the game. So on behalf of the American Poolplayers Association we would just like to let you know that our thoughts and prayers are with the Yates family through there moment of sadness.

Our family is greiving the lost of a dear friend. Tony was a great guy who loved his family. I will never forget all the fun he was having at the race track in April trying to pass the younger guys. He was just a big kid at heart and we all loved him very much. RIP Tony

Our hearts ache for the loss of Tony. He was a friend that you dont find often enough in life, from chatting over coffee to christmas shopping together with him and Rena and everything in between. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. Tony helped us so many times and never asked for anything in return. He was always there when needed. Tony will be missed by so many friends and family. We Love You Tony. Love Forever Dave, Cassy, and family.

We are so very sorry for your loss. Tony always had a smile followed by some sort of sarcastic comment. We will definitely miss his quick wit and joking personality. He was alright, even though he was a Cowboys fan!
We are keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers.

We were so saddened to hear of Tony's passing. What a "Character", and I mean that in the most respectful way. He would go out of his way to help anyone and I don't believe he ever met a stranger. We will very much miss his lively personality. Thank you God, for putting him into our lives for that too short of time.

Tony and I met at the restaurant in Richwood we talked about our mutual team, the Cowboys, and he shared with me how proud he was of Jeremiah's writing [I later purchased the book]. I remember him as friendly with a easy laugh. My best to the family at this time of loss. People like Tony are few and far between they leave a void in our town. God is always there,Blessings and help.
