James D. “Jim” Fields
James D. “Jim” FieldsOSU HelmetJames D. “Jim” Fields age 68 of Richwood, died early Monday morning, November 7, 2011 at the Marion General Hospital.  He was born March 17, 1943 in Radnor to the late Dayton and Mildred (Gandee) Fields.

On February 28, 1964 he married the former JoAnna Millington in West Jackson and she survives.

He worked for 30 years as a forklift operator at Rockwell in Marysville and Newark.  He was a member of the Marion Christian Center.  Jim served in the National Guard for 6 years.  He enjoyed fishing in farm ponds in the area and loved sports, especially OSU Football and girls softball, which he coached in Richwood for many years.  Jim enjoyed traveling and shopping and loved being with his grandkids and family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Cynthia (William) Davis; Jami (Regan) McCully; a sister, Glenda Fields, all of Richwood; six grandchildren, Makayla Davis, Christian, Gabrielle and Sarah Koch, Blayde and Seiarra McCully.  He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Perry Payne officiating.  Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery.  Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Not a day goes by I don't think about my coach, my friend and his family, I love them as my own.  Surely missed but so happy he's in heaven with our savior and We will meet again!
