Virginia Louise Chapman
Virginia Louise ChapmanCrossVirginia Louise Chapman age 83 of Logan, formerly of Richwood, died peacefully Thursday evening February 9, 2012 at the Logan Health Care Center where she had been residing.

She was born April 3, 1928 in Maloneton, Kentucky to the late Orville D. and Cora (Tripplet) Jordan, she was also predeceased by her first husband Merle Chapman, her son: Michael Chapman, daughter, Susan Brooks; 3 brothers, James, Eugene and Charles Jordan; one sister, Christine Lewis; and a stepson, Randy Chapman.

Louise was a homemaker and had attended the Logan Baptist Church when her health allowed her to.   She was a talented poetry writer; some of her works were published.

Surviving is her husband Dale Chapman of Logan, five grandchildren, Hope (Aaron) Tipton, James (Julie) Thornton, Stephanie (Manny) Fontes, Jeff Welch and Crystal White; thirteen great-grandchildren;one brother: Clyde (Norma) Jordan of Toledo, two stepsons, Stephen (Yayon) Chapman, North Carolina; Kevin (Shauna) Chapman, Richwood; and a stepdaughter, Melodi (Dale) Weiser, Ostrander; three sisters-in-law, Hazel, June and Janis Jordan and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 13, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood where friends may call one hour prior to the service.  Pastor Joe Rhea will officiate and burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery.

Clyde...was so sorry to learn of the loss of your dear sister this morning.  You have been such a faithful sibling and your prayers, love and the investment of time you've spent with Louise were surely a deep comfort for her in her last days.  Will be praying for you and Norma.  Let us know how we can serve you and minister to you during this time.  Jeff and Karen Culler

My beautiful Aunt Louise has gone to join her family in Heaven. I remember all the good times we had together with Mike & Susie at her home in Richwood while growing up. I will miss her. My condolences to her surviving family.  Jane Throckmorton (Daughter of Betty Chapman) Rest in Peace, Aunt Louise.
