It was such a pleasure to be Stanley's Home Health Care Aid.I took care of him over the weekend. And i was there around Christmas and he sang We Wish you A Merry Christmas with me.He had so many stories to tell. And he was very strong minded. And he would tell you how it was if he did not want you to do it.And i always told him that was the pollock in him.You will be truly missed. And i will never forget you.You always made me laugh and smile. And i did get to give you a hug before you went home.

Pat and Family,

I’m sad to hear that Uncle Stanley passed away but I’m also glad he is upstairs in heaven with his sisters and brother. As you know, my Mom (Mary McDermott) just passed away this August, so I’m sure she is giving Stan a big hug as I write this note. Uncle Stanley was a very good person with a big heart of gold. He always treated our family kindly when we visited. I can still remember living at his first farm for a couple of weeks when I was a very young kid. Back then, his farm was all pigs, cows and chickens, and a great place for kids to play. In 1974, he told me I could be a farmer and work a piece of his land. I was more of the scientist/engineer type, so I turned him down, but it was a great example of his big heart at work -- offering me the opportunity to farm land, which is what he loved so much.  I read the reference to him as “ornery, stubborn, old Pollack”, but I always saw  him as a tough minded  person who knew who he was and what was important….and I’m pretty sure all us “Pollacks” in the McDermott family have this same trait. My thoughts and prayers are with you Pat and with all of Uncle Stanley’s family during this time. God bless you all.

Dan McDermott

I seen the obituary on Maron Online, and was sad to hear of Mr.Juzwiak passing. When I was in Marion temporarily in the early 90's,Stanley and his grandson came to my mothers house, where I was staying,to look at a old Nova car I had for sale for $150.00.They wanted the car,and offered a check for it.I explained I couldn't take a check, since I was in transit and didn't have a bank account.Stanley said he seldom carried cash, and had but $20.00 on him,but if I could follow him in the car to his home,he had that much cash there, and he would bring me back to my mothers house. We we arrived I was quite impressed with the operation. He was dressed in work clothes and his modest demeanor belied the fact he was obviously successful in farming.Looking about,I remarked how I mistook him for a''poor boy''.He laughed and said,The car is a gift to my grandson for helping me on the farm this summer,I reakon I'm good for the $150.00.Then he said, why don't you stay for supper ? I remember the fine meal at he big table, and the friendliness of Stanleys large family. On the way back to Marion,he told me of his selling a smaller, less productive farm in eastern Ohio to a coal company, and buying the farm near Richwood, but he said he would give it all,if could save his wife who was quite ill with cancer at the time. Our paths crossed just this one day,but I never forgot what a remarkable man Stanley Juzwiak was,I instantly liked him and related that day in the early 90's,to many people in my travels since. He struck me as a man of grit, determination, savy and hard work, with a big heart and humility. This world needs more like him ! Rest in peace. Sincerly,Darryl Holcomb,Dekalb,Texas.

I will always cherish the memories I have of Uncle Stanley. Most of all, the summers I spent on the farm and riding in the tractor with him all day and into the night. I will miss him dearly.

I will always treasure the memories of the summers I spent up in Richwood. Spending all the time on the farm with him.. He would ride us in the scoop of the John Deere Tractor. I remember the great dinners that Pat cooked for us. R.I.P.
