Dova L. Akers
Dova L. AkersPraying HandsDova L. Akers age 88 of LaRue, died Friday afternoon, February 21, 2014 at Kenton Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born July 31, 1925 in Portsmouth to the late Jess and Thelma (Gifford) Bartee, she was also predeceased by one daughter: Phyllis Stoner and her husband of 60 yrs. , Finnes “Bill” Akers whom she married April 7, 1942 and he died July 26, 2002, also one grandchild, one great grandchild, two brothers and one sister.

Dova was a member of the Salem Church of God, she had worked at the former Motor Products and retired from Tecumseh Products in Marion.

Surviving are two sons: William (Dixie) Akers of LaRue and Keith (Karyl) Akers of Richwood, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren and son-in law: Richard Stoner of Florida

Graveside Services will be held Monday February 24, 2014 at 11:00 am at the LaRue Cemetery, Pastor Bill Snyder will officiate. In keeping with Dova’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours.

Memorial Gifts may be made to Kenton Nursing and Rehab Center for the activities of the residents at 117 Jacob-Parrot Blvd. Kenton, Ohio 43326

The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue is assisting the family.
