Dwight William “Boogie” Christman Jr.
MarinesIn Loving Memory of Dwight William “Boogie” Christman Jr., 80 of Richwood, formerly of Columbus, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 8, 2014 at his home.  He was born December 31, 1933 in Columbus to the late Dwight William Sr. and Lillian Marie (Brown) Christman.

He was retired from the former Navistar on the west side of Columbus where he worked in electrical maintenance.  He was a member of his electrical workers union, the I. B. E. W.    A veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps, he served during the Korean Conflict.  He was of the Catholic faith.  Dwight was a life-long member of the N. R. A. and enjoyed the outdoors and loved his family.

He is survived by two daughters, Kathleen D. (Frank) Sainato, Canal Winchester; Susan Anne (Curtis) Atwood, Millersport; three grandchildren, Christine (Heath) Baker, Roman Atwood, Curtis Dale (Jessica) Atwood; a brother, John L. (Alice) Christman, Carroll; a sister, Shirley Marie Southall, Canal Winchester; nephews and nieces, John L. Christman, Thomas Christman, Jack Southall, Victor Southall, Melinda (Rick) Rhoades and seven great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Faith Christman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Resurrection, 6300 East Dublin-Granville Road, New Albany, OH 43054 where friends may call one hour prior.  Rev. Jerome P. Rodenfels will officiate and burial will follow at 1:00 PM in Green Lawn Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the U. S. Marine Corps.

Dear Kathleen and Sue and families:  So sorry for your loss.  The devotion you had for your Dad was inspirational.  Your actions showed how much you loved him and how much he loved you and all your family.  I'm praying for all of you in this difficult time.

All of us at Denny's would like to send our condolences to the family of a great man! We become very close to Dwight.  He put smiles on our faces each day he came in for his can of diet coke and treats for the dogs! You will be missed Dwight!
