Dear Linda, Carol and families,
I was sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. He was a special man to many people. My Uncle Cecil and he were best buddies. One of the last things Charlie said to me before I left his house in October 2012, was "Your Uncle Cecil loved you and thought you were the sweetest girl" as he patted my hand. It brought me to tears then as it does now. My memories of Charlie (and Marge) go back as far as I can remember. They were faithful church members as well as loving, caring friends to those fortunate to know them. Since Carol and I have been friends since way back when, I was lucky enough to spend time at the Lauer house in my early years where I always felt welcome. I will remember Charlie for his kindness, compassion and humor. I am blessed to have such sweet memories of such a marvelous man.

With sincerest sympathy,
Cheryl

To the family of Charles,

You will not know me as I only knew your Father as I am an accountant and I worked with him as the financial officer for the Legion Post when it came time for income taxes.

My experience with him was great, such a gentleman. He was so pleasant and kind.

He occasionally came to "Carlyle's" our favorite restaurant in Richwood and when it was full and he being alone we would invite him to join us.We always had good food and conversation. He will be missed and left a loving account of what a "good man"should be.

You have our condolences and we share your loss.

Today, I feel your loss.I fondly remember the times I spent with Chuck at the post office when I was his substitute. I would go with him on his route if the snow was exceptionally deep and recall the time he dragged me along as we were getting the car out of a drift. If I was substituting on the other route, we always had a memorable time while sorting our mail. When I would sing at church, I always knew when I had sung well because I could see the tears on his cheeks. Over many years, he was a good friend to me and to my family. He was a wonderful husband and father and a credit to his community of which he was an important part all of his life. I am proud to have known him. I want to express my sympathy to all his close knit family on the loss of someone who loved each and every one of you. You were so lucky to have had him. He and Marge are together again and all is right. Bless you as you mourn his loss.

Pauline

To Linda, Carol & Families
We are out of state and so sorry that we cannot be there for calling hours or the funeral service.   We have wonderful memories of Charlie - his great sense of humor and his steadfast faith in the Lord.   He was faithful in his service to  his church and his community,  and we will all miss him.   We offer our deepest sympathies to you, but also we rejoice because we know through the promise of the Resurrection that Charlie is now with God.
