Theodore "Ted" Martin
Theodore Cross and FlameTheodore “Ted” Earnest Martin, 65 of Green Camp, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2015 at Heartland of Marion after a brief illness.

He was born in Marion on August 23, 1950, to the late Bryan and Marguerite (Gehring) Martin and was raised on the family farm near Green Camp. As a youth he was very involved in 4-H, showing cattle, the Junior Fair Board, and Junior Leadership. In 1968, he graduated from Elgin High School and began attending classes at The Ohio State University.

During the Vietnam War, he was a Sergeant in the Army Reserves. At age 20, he moved to Indiana and worked a series of jobs, eventually becoming a real estate agent for the F.C. Tucker Company. In 1982, he married Jane Ellen Fink. He worked for eleven years as a salesman throughout the Mid-West for Packaging Equipment and Films, a plastic and packaging company located out of Indianapolis, Indiana. Ted was active in his faith and was a member of the Green Camp United Methodist Church. In his free time he enjoyed reading and studying history.

He is survived by Jane, his sons, Kyle Martin and Joseph (Brittany) Martin; his stepson, Eric (Bethany) Jensen; his grandson, Lucas Asher Martin; and granddaughter, Kendall Josephine Jensen, all of Indianapolis, as well as his sister, Justine (Allan) Santschi of Delaware, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

His family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 29, from 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Services at 12 noon in the Green Camp United Methodist Church with Pastor Josh Freshour officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5555 Frantz Rd., Dublin, OH 43017.

So sorry about Ted's passing. I have many good childhood memories of Ted when mom would come an clean and we got reacquainted about 2ys. ago. Ruth Lewis and Grace Mabry

To Justine, and the entire Martin Family
I didn't not know Ted Well, But He made himself known to me
At my father showing and we had talked a few times after.
But I have extremely fond memories of Byron, Margerite, and
You Justine, growing up down the road. Are family have been
Life long friends, So my heart and thoughts are with you and your's at this time.
I will not be able to attend the service due to work, but I wanted you to know your in my thoughts at this time.

We are so sorry for the lost of Ted.  He was a good neighbor and friend.  Our families go back many years and the memories of the neighborhood are strong.  God bless your family and may he rest in peace.

TED WAS ONE OF A KIND THAT THE MOLD WAS BROKEN ON. WE FEEL SO BLESSED TO HAVE HAD HIM IN OUR LIVES AND WILL MISS HIM. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE NOW TED.
