Laughrey Jr., age 82 of Grove City, formerly of Richwood died late Thursday evening March 15, 2012 at the Mill Run Nursing Home in Hilliard.  He was born March 19, 1929 in Richwood to the late Mildred Laverne (Debolt) and Luther L. Laughrey Sr. He was also preceded in death by a son, Lucas Lee Laughrey and two brothers, Alfred and Gail Laughrey.


Luther was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and worked for the Ohio Gas and Appliance in Columbus for nearly 50 years.  He enjoyed NASCAR (Mark Martin was his favorite driver), traveling and camping. He was a master mechanic, always working on some kind of engine or appliance. He also enjoyed volunteering for different organizations in the area

He is survived by three children, Larry Laughrey, Marion; Luanne (Keith) Kleinsteuber, Brantford, Ontario Canada, Lance (Danielle) Laughrey, Columbus; four grandchildren, Chelsea Taylor, Shelby Gibson, Quintyn Gibson, Jonathan Laughrey; four great-grandchildren, Rielly and Brody Taylor, Ava Gibson, Amia Rose; and a brother, Danny Laughrey, Richwood. Also surviving is his former wife and mother of their children: Carol Suzanne Mahaney of Plain City, and special family friend, Dorothy Gaa of Plain City.


Funeral services will be Thursday March 22, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, Pastor Joseph Rhea will officiate, burial will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville, where there will be veteran Graveside services conducted by the Richwood Area Veterans. Friends may call at the Funeral Home in Richwood Wednesday from 5-8 pm
