Kenneth V. "Kenny" Gravatt
Kenneth V. Gravatt TractorKenneth V. “Kenny” Gravatt Jr., 61, of Richwood, died Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the OSU Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus, with his loving wife by his side.

He was born on January 17, 1959, in Trenton, NJ, to the late Kenneth and Mary (Hoaern) Gravatt. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Dana Smith.

He married Terri A. Smith on April 9, 1988, by the Rev. James Wise at the West Mansfield United Methodist Church and she survives in Richwood.

Farming was a major part of Kenny's life. Starting his farming career in Allentown, New Jersey raising crops of pumpkins at a young age, he then entered into a partnership with his parents, raising corn, soybeans, wheat, barley, and tomatoes. Their farming operation was moved to Richwood in 1980. His favorite hobbies were OSTPA tractor pulling, watching NASCAR, and making yearly vacations to Florida.

But perhaps the most important thing to Kenny was his family, he cherished time spent with his wife and sons and it gave him great pleasure to know that the family farm was being carried on. He loved being able to work with his sons.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kyle K. Gravatt (Annie Torka) of Iowa City, Iowa; Justin C. Gravatt of Richwood; a sister, Patricia Grygon of Hamilton, NJ; mother-in-law  Donna Smith of West Mansfield; along with a number of brothers & sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Kenny is also survived by close friends Marvin Donnell, Jeff and Gwen Hoffman, Helen Kale, Terry and Barb Kemp, and Dave Klamfoth.

A drive-through visitation will be held at the Gravatt Family Farm located at 28621 McMahan Road, Richwood, OH 43344, Wednesday November 18 from 1-5pm. Graveside services will be held at  the York Cemetery Thursday November 19 at 11am, Pastor Clancy Cruise will officiate.

Memorial donations may be made to Lifeline of Ohio at  770 Kinnear Road, Columbus, OH 43212, or the Polycystic Kidney Foundation 1001 E 101st Terrace Suite 220 Kansas City MO 6413.

The family is being assisted by the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood.

So sorry to hear of Kenny passing . To Terri and Justin and family I think he was one of the bravest friends I knew. I have worked for him for a long time. During harvest time and through out  the years, I enjoyed our visits doing projects and fixing stuff. I always had to see his latest upgrades to his pulling tractor. See you later.
