Kevin, my friend and colleague. The first one in the courts that made me feel like part of the team. I miss our chats and your stories. I always admired the true kindness you shared with everyone, even those that didn’t seem to deserve or appreciate it. I was blessed to be able to call you my friend. You are missed.

Kevin you were an amazing individual and such a talented author. I was so excited as each new book came out and equally excited when you signed them for me. Your knowledge of just about every topic was impressive. I enjoyed our paranormal research and investigations. Rest In Peace my friend.

Kevin and I first met at the Andrews House Legal Clinic before the move to AZ. He was a faithful volunteer and took our model to the Hope Center in Marysville, recruiting volunteer lawyers, before his and your move away. We reconnected when he moved back to this area and became a CASA with Juveile Court's program (serving Union and Delaware County). When he stepped down due to increasing health issues, he was in the the Delaware office with Tammy Mathias, CASA director and saw my name on the office across the hallway. "Does April still work here?" Yes. Tammy came to me afterwards and asked if it was okay to reconnect us, mentioning Kevin had multiple myeloma, as do I. Reconnect us? Heck yes!! What a gift: reconnecting with Kevin.
We managed one lunch together (a second one planned never happened as the pandemic shut us all down) talking long and enthusiastically about the law (his career path, my career path), about writing (he was so much farther along than I was), about our families (oh, how he loved his family: you were ever present in his thoughts and heart), and, of course, myeloma. We emailed back and forth after that--about writing, about woodcarving (again, he was light years beyond me), about fishing, and, of course, about myeloma.
Kevin was always, ALWAYS ready to reach out to others looking for reassurance and advice for a new diagnosis of myeloma. even though he had so many struggles with it, he was unstinting with his time and care. It reminded me of his practice as a lawyer: always, ALWAYS ready to reach out to help others.
I was devastated when I learned of his death. It's not as if those of us with cancer fool ourselves as to what is ahead, but it hurts all the same. Kevin was a huge loss.
Pamela and Stephen, who I never meet but knew all about (!), may your many, many memories of Kevin and his love for you bring you comfort.

I knew Kevin only a brief time, through the Ohio Writers Guild. He was so kind, offering to give me another beta read of my young adult paranormal, because I was revamping it significantly. He had barely known me, yet he offered that commitment. That showed me the giving person he was, not to mention the leadership role he had taken with Ohio Writers Guild. To all Kevin's family and friends, may you remember his smile, his kindness, his spirt.

Dear Pam,
I was so shocked and saddened to see Kevin's obituary- he left us way too soon. Although life takes us in different directions and its been years since we have seen each other, you and Kevin have always been in my thoughts. I remember the good times and laughs we had; loved visiting you at your place in Richwood. May the love of family and friends bring you peace during this time of sorrow.
