We are heartbroken. So many good memories of walking over to Bob and Carol’s house when we were neighbors. (It always included saying hello to Bob and Barney).
We are thinking of you and hope you find peace in this difficult time.
Love,
Wendy and the girls.

Sherry, I'm so very sorry at the loss of your dad. It seemed like he would simply live forever. My memories of him go back to Lee's house to the late 60s and early 70s. I remember him cracking jokes at us. Again, in really sorry he's gone. David

I was friends with Bob many years ago, actually about 1978, he convinced me to accept a promotion into management. We had lots of good conversations and I don’t think Bob ever knew a stranger.
Rest In Peace old friend.

Dave, Teri, Sherry, Carol and families: I was saddened to learn of Bob's passing. He and Laura were two of the kindest people I have known my whole life. They welcomed me into their home as my home throughout my childhood and high school years. It would be impossible to have better or fonder memories from my youth than the Birchfield family. Rest in peace, Bob. You were a kind and decent man. Your only great mistake in life was giving me one of my first summer jobs while in college driving a Pepsi route. I could not have been more ill-qualified, but Bob was patient with me, and that summer is among favorite memories from my years in Prospect. Love, Mac/Doug

It's so difficult being so far away when family is in need. I wish I could be there hugging all of you and paying my respects to Uncle Bob. I had such wonderful memories of Uncle Bob. The two that stand out most are 1. as a kid who was not aloud to drink soda pop, coming home to Ohio and hanging with the Pepsi man was amazing!!!! 2. Uncle Bob flexing his bicep and me hanging and swinging from it like it was nothing. It was extremely impressive. Uncle Bob was one of the good guys, a man who taught those around him what it means to be a good man. I love you Uncle Bob, I'm happy you are finally with Aunt Laura again. Rest in peace.
