I am so sorry for your families loss. Her and Joyce were my landlords for a few years. Joyce would have an ice cream cone for my son every day when he got off the school bus. They were two of the kindest people I have ever known.

I’m so sorry for your loss. 🙏🙏. Herb and Joyce were such nice people. I remember going to their place for youth group activities when I was a teenager. And I appreciated Joyce helping out making quilts for Logan County Vets to DC and was happy that Herb and Brian got to go on a trip. Love and prayers. Deanna

I have fond memories of Joyce growing up in the Methodist Church in Belle Center and to school. She was in my brother, Larry’s class. Later in life, I moved my family to Prospect and ran into her at an event at Elgin. Our family attended many of the Tuesday night jams at their restaurant in LaRue. She could really make that piano rock. I remember her brothers, Allie, and Foster, as well.
Please accept my sincere condolences on this tragic loss. God’s blessings as you continue this journey through life without them.

My grandma was always fond of your mom and dad and considered them as good friends.Even after Herb retired, if grandma needed help, she knew who to call, and he would always show up.I loved seeing Joyce out and having conversation about whatever craft she was working on. My sisters and I used to ride to church with the Mitchell family. It was something we looked forward to.Sorry for your loss.

I’m so sorry to hear of your loss! They were amazing people! I rented the apartment above the restaurant for 6 years. They were so good to me and my daughter! I was just thinking of them shortly before this happened. Herb came up and got a bat out for me and I’ll always remember Joyce’s taco salad at the restaurant. Prayers for all of the family!🙏❤️

In no way can we understand you tremendous loss, we can however know that they are present with our Savior Jesus Christ. I remember them fondly and on a couple of occasions broke bread at their dining room table. Wonderful people with love in their hearts for their children and the Lord. They will be missed. Great neighbors growing up and always giving of their time to the church and their community. Brian, Darla and Laurie, know they were cherished by so many and will always Carrie a special place in all our hearts. Please accept my deepest sympathies and prayers during this time of saying goodbye, only for a short while, until we are all called home.
