He attended Richwood High School where he was active in track and band. Gale graduated from The Ohio State University with a teaching degree in English and Social Studies.

| Zella Maude Riley 1760 Mount Olive-Agosta Road, New Bloomington, was oil dead on arrival at Med-Center Hospital, Marion, Thursday evening Nov 9, 1989.
She was bom in Illinois March 12, 1920, and had at one time been employed as manager of the bakery department with Super Duper at Southland Mall. Mrs. Riley was a member of Bible Wesleyan Methodist Church.
The former Zella Green married Thomas W. Riley in 1940. He died March 2, 1980.
