| Bettylou McFarlan as adopted by her late grandparents William and Zetta (Giles) Wiener. She was also preceded in death by her biological mother, Genevieve Kirtland, as well as sisters Barbara Jean and Patty Ann.
On June 4, 1950, she married Robert O. McFarlan at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Marion, they were married 48 years until his death on April 17, 1999.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Essex United Methodist Church
and the grange.
She was born March 12,1900, in Union County to the late Jesse Bell and
Elizabeth Godfrey Robertson. She married Cloyd L. Mettler Oct. 14, 1927,
and he died Sept 20, 1986. She was preceded in death by five brothers and
three sisters.
